I’m Evan Matthews and I’ve lived in the Hudson Valley for all of my life. I’ve been an avid hunter and fisherman for the past 50 years. Guns and swords have always been a passion of mine, and now part of my livelihood.

I am a lifelong member of the NRA. In addition to being an FFL Licensed dealer, I am also a NYS Handgun Dealer.

I spent many years as a flight attendant on United Airlines, flying the run to Japan. While I was there, I developed a passion for Samurai swords. I belong to the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK), which is dedicated to the preservation of Japanese Art swords. I am a Japanese translator as well.

I hunt and fish in Ulster County, where I am likely to be if you can’t find me. With the Ashokan Reservoir right down the road, it’s so tempting during fishing season. I’m very familiar with the needs of sportsmen in this area of New York. And I can give you some advice on the best places to fish.. well, maybe some of them!

My favorite piece of art is right here in my shop - a near life size Remington statue of an Indian Chief on his horse.
